What is Narayana bali Pooja?
Narayan Bali Pooja is a ritual described in Garuda Purana which is performed in all cases of unnatural death of a family member. Death can be by one of the following reasons : Suicide, Murder, Starvation, Accident, Animals, Arson, Curse, Drowning, Murder,any unusual disease which suddenly caused untimely death.
It is also performed for the dead persons who were great sinners. For all these people there is neither ritual for cremation, nor tarpana, nor sraddha nor asaucham. Narayan Bali consists of the same rituals as a Hindu funeral shortened to three days instead of the customary thirteen.A Brahmin priest at Timbakeshwar experienced in conducting these rituals is engaged by the family performing the ritual. Five rituals are offered to Brahma,Vishnu,Shiva, Yama and Preta. The ritual for Brahma is not known by Brahmins outside Trimbakeshwar. A dummy body mostly made of wheat dough is used. Vedic Mantras are chanted to invoke such lost souls. It is believed that the ritual makes the souls of the dead to possess the dummy body which is later set alight with the pyre supposed to let the soul to liberate and transcend.

Gokarna is a small town on the western coast of India in the Kumta taluk of Uttara Kannada district of the state of Karnataka. The main temple deity is Lord Shiva, who is also known as Mahabaleshwar. Gokarna is known as one of the seven important Hindu pilgrimage centers in India.

What is Tripindi Shraddha?
Tripindi means Pinddaan of our forefathers of previous 3 generations. If anyone in the family from the previous 3 generations has passed away in very young age or old age then those people cause problems to us. To let the people free one has to do Tripindi Shraddha.
In the Hindu tradition of India, debt is recognized as three types. These are Pitru runa , Rushi runa and Paramatma runa . Who can do Tripindi Shraddha?
The couples has the right to do Tripindi together. This formality can also be performed by unmarried persons.If after marriage, Hindu women go to another family. She is also not qualified to perform Tripindi or Shraddha for her parents. But for those deceased who have a relationship with her husband’s relatives, she can do tripindi or shraddha.
